Frequently asked

Still have questions? [email protected]

Is Scribeist free to try?
Yes. Every account gets a 7-day Pro trial with everything unlocked. After that, the free tier keeps the core editor and export forever.
What does 'remembers everything I write' mean?
Scribeist builds a private index of your workspaces so the AI can answer questions about your own drafts and notes, and cite the source. The index stays in your account — no one else can see it.
How do credits work?
Credits are tied to your active subscription. When you have a paid plan, you can use both your monthly credits and any purchased credit bundles. If you cancel your subscription, monthly credits expire, but any purchased credits are preserved and will be available again when you reactivate a paid plan. The system automatically uses monthly credits first before drawing from your purchased balance.
Can I export my work?
Always. PDF, DOCX, Markdown, EPUB, and direct publish to Ghost, WordPress, Substack, and Medium. Your work is yours.
Is my writing used to train models?
No. We've contractually opted out with every third-party model we use. Your writing isn't training anyone's next release.
What's the difference between Free and Pro?
The Free plan gives you access to our core text editor and basic export options, perfect for getting started. Pro plans unlock advanced features like AI writing tools, the infinite canvas, version history, tracking tools, and more. The 7-day trial lets you explore all Pro features before deciding.
