What is Version History?
Version History automatically saves snapshots of your work, allowing you to view and restore previous versions of any document.
Note
Available in: Hobby and Pro plans only
How it works
Automatic versions:
- Created automatically whenever document is auto-saved
- Deleted after 30 days
Manual snapshots:
- Create permanent versions that never expire
- Pin important milestones to keep them forever
Accessing Version History
To view versions:
- Open your document
- Click the history button in the top right
- See a chronological list of all versions
Restoring versions
To restore a previous version:
- Open Version History
- Click on the version you want to restore
- Preview the content
- Click Restore This Version
- Confirm
Your current document is replaced with the selected version. A new version of your current state is automatically saved before restoring, so you won't lose work.
Creating manual snapshots
Pin important versions to keep them forever.
To create a manual snapshot:
- Open Version History
- Select New snapshot
- Fill in the needed info
- Keep the "Keep forever (pinned)" selected
- Version is marked as permanent
Pinned snapshots never expire.
Important notes
Deleted Images
Deleted images are not restored when you restore a previous version. If you restore a version that contained an image you later deleted, the image reference will remain but the image itself won't reappear.
Version History is not available for:
- Canvas (Canvas has its own save system)
- Folders or sections (only documents have versions)
