What are share links?
Share links let you share your work with anyone. Viewers don't need a Scribeist account—just the link.
Note
Available in: Hobby and Pro plans only

What viewers see:
Shared view includes:
- Document content with formatting (bold, italic, headings)
- Images and links
- Author name (if set in workspace settings)
- Workspace description (if set in workspace settings)
- Workspace cover image (if set)
Viewers cannot:
- Edit content (read-only)
- See comments, notes, or version history
- Access workspace settings
Share link behavior:
Live updates
Share links are "live"—changes you make in the editor appear in the shared view after viewers refresh the page.
Warning
If you don't want viewers to see your edits, turn off the share link before editing.
Persistence
Share links persist according to the settings you choose.
- If you set an expiration date, the link will expire automatically.
- If no expiration is set, the link will remain active indefinitely — unless the link is manually deleted or the workspace itself is deleted.
