Can I change my plan?
Yes, you can upgrade, downgrade, pause, or cancel your plan at any time.
Upgrades: Take effect immediately. You'll gain access to your new plan's features right away.
Downgrades: Take effect at the end of your current billing cycle. You'll keep your current plan's features until then.
Cancellations: Your recurring payment is cancelled immediately, but your plan remains active until the end of your current billing period. After that, you're moved to the Free plan.
If you switch between a regular credit plan and a BYOK plan, your purchased extra credits stay on your account. They are not deleted.
How to manage your subscription
From Account Settings:
- Click your profile icon (top right of dashboard or top of workspace sidebar)
- Select Account Settings
- Click Manage Subscription
- This opens Stripe's customer portal in a new tab
- Click Update plan to change, pause, or cancel
Switching between credit plans and BYOK plans
You can switch between standard credit plans and BYOK plans from the same subscription flow.
What changes when you move to BYOK:
- Scribeist stops deducting monthly AI credits for supported AI features
- AI requests use your OpenRouter API key instead
- You still need an active Scribeist subscription
What stays the same:
- Your workspace access and plan-level feature access
- Any purchased extra credits already on your account
