What are entity relationships?
Relationships in Mythos allow you to create parent-child hierarchies between entities. This helps you organize complex worlds, show membership, and group related elements.
Note
Available in: Novel Workspace only
Note
"Parent-child" is organizational, not familial. It simply means one entity belongs to or is part of another.
Creating relationships
To create a relationship:
- Open the parent entity's profile
- Go to the "Relationships" tab
- Click "Add Child"
- Select or create the child entity
Or from the child: Open child entity → Set "Parent Entity" field → Save
Relationships can be inverted if you created the parent/child relationship incorrectly.
Viewing relationships
Relationships are visible in entity profiles only—there's no visual graph or map.
To view an entity's relationships: Open entity profile → Relationships tab → See:
- Parent entity (if any)
- Child entities (if any)
- Sibling entities (entities with the same parent)

Benefits of relationships
Organization
Keep related entities grouped logically. Instead of a flat list of 50 locations, organize them by kingdom, province, and city.
Color inheritance
Assign a color to a parent entity and all children inherit that color—useful for visual grouping in your manuscript.
Example: Assign blue to "The Empire" and all cities in the empire are highlighted in blue when mentioned in your text.

AI understanding
When you mention a parent entity with @ in AI Chat, AI knows all its children and their relationships.
Example:
@TheGuild - Tell me about the organization and its members.
AI knows all character members of The Guild.
