What are workspaces?

A workspace is a self-contained writing environment for a specific project. Each workspace has its own files, settings, and organization—completely separate from your other workspaces.

When you create a workspace, you choose a workspace type, and Scribeist configures the interface with tools tailored to that style of writing.

Available workspace types

Each workspace type is optimized for different writing needs:

  • Novel → - Fiction, creative writing, storytelling
  • Blog → - Articles, SEO content, web publishing
  • General → - Notes, journaling, freeform writing

All workspace types included

Every Scribeist plan includes access to all workspace types. You're not choosing between them—you're choosing how many workspaces you can create.

Workspace limits by plan:

  • Free: 1 workspace (any type)
  • Hobby: 5 workspaces (any type)
  • Pro: Unlimited workspaces
