What are AI credits?
AI credits are used whenever you interact with Scribeist's AI features — whether you're generating content, researching topics, or using AI writing tools.
Credits by plan
Each plan includes a monthly AI credit allowance:

Your monthly credits renew automatically at the start of each billing cycle.
How far do credits go?
For most writers, Hobby provides more than enough AI usage for regular drafting, editing, brainstorming, and research. Pro is designed for higher-volume and more intensive workflows.
Credit usage varies depending on prompt length, response size, and the specific AI feature being used.
Credits are consumed when using:
- AI writing assistance (rewrites, expansions, suggestions)
- Research and web scraping
- Content generation
- Chat with AI
Note
Mythos features do not use AI credits. The AI powering Mythos is not a large language model and does not consume credits. Feel free to use Mythos as much as you like.

Purchasing additional credits
You can purchase credit bundles of 650 credits for a one-time fee.
How purchased credits work:
- Available only to Hobby and Pro subscribers
- Used after your monthly recurring credits run out
- Never expire — they remain in your account indefinitely
- If you downgrade to Free, purchased credits are locked until you resubscribe

Credit refunds
Purchased credit bundles can be refunded if unused:
- Within 14 days: Contact us at support@scribeist.com for a refund
- After 14 days: Reach out to us and we’ll review your request on a case-by-case basis
