What is the General workspace?
The General workspace is a clean, distraction-free writing environment for notes, drafts, journaling, and any writing that doesn't fit into specialized categories.
Unlike Blog and Novel workspaces, the General workspace has no unique features—it's intentionally simple, providing only the core features available in every workspace.
When to use it
Perfect for:
- Personal notes and journaling
- Brainstorming and freewriting
- Meeting notes and documentation
- Draft work before deciding on format
- Quick writing that doesn't need specialized tools
- Academic writing or essays
- Miscellaneous projects
Not ideal for:
- Novel writing with complex characters → Use Novel Workspace
- Blog posts needing SEO optimization → Use Blog Workspace
Board tabs
The General workspace has three board tabs:
- Files - Your main writing area
- Planning - Outlines, lists, and planning documents
- Research - Research notes and reference materials
Each tab can contain documents, folders, and canvases.
