What are folders?
Folders group related documents, canvases, and other folders together within a board tab.
Creating folders
To create a folder: Click the plus folder icon in the left sidebar → Name it
When creating or renaming a folder, you can also customize its icon and icon color to make it easier to identify at a glance.
What folders can contain
- Documents
- Canvases
- Other folders (nested)
Folders can be placed at the root of a board tab or inside another folder.
Folders in AI Chat
Choose Add → Folders in AI Chat to provide every document inside a folder, including documents in nested folders. The picker shows how many documents will be sent before you select it.
Folder context sends full document text and can be substantial. For broad discovery across many documents, consider using AI Chat’s one-message Search option instead.
Nesting folders
Folders can be nested inside other folders for deeper organization.
Example:
- Novel (folder)
- Act One (folder)
- Chapter 1 (document)
- Chapter 2 (document)
- Act Two (folder)
- Chapter 3 (document)
- Act One (folder)
Customizing folders
When creating or renaming a folder (right-click menu), you can:
- Change icon - Choose from available icons
- Change color - Change the icon color
